Beautiful quality Tibetan banner in blue embroidered silk with the Tibetan symbol of the KALACHAKRA. The kalachakra tantra (meaning the wheel of time) is, with its vimalaprabha commentary, the main support of the kalachakra teaching of Tibetan Buddhism. Tantra has had a great influence on Tibetan cosmology and the Tibetan calendar. The tradition of kalachakra revolves around the concepts of time and cycles: the cycle of the planets, the respiratory cycle, and the control of the subtlest energies in one's body in order to achieve enlightenment. Its main text is Kalachakra Tantra. The deity of kalachakra represents a Buddha and his omniscience. Everything is under the influence of time, so the Buddha who is time knows everything. Likewise, the wheel (of time) has neither beginning nor end. This hanging made of embroidered silk brocade is an excellent piece for a temple, meditation or yoga room. It includes the colourful embroidery of the symbols on blue brocade. A fabric loop allows for easy hanging. Multicoloured fringes hang at the bottom of the banner. Entirely handmade in Nepal.
